Job Description:

This position is structured as a contract to hire role. All candidates must have a clean, criminal background and the ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

The Production Supervisor oversees and develops Machine Operators and the Material Handler. PS will regularly monitor each work cell and support the people within it through:

Coordinating and particpating in the training of operators

Auditing production figures

Auditing quality by monitoring SPC internal scrap data

Auditing safety and housekeeping

Auditing equipment

Searching for improvement ideas

Ensuring that Company policies are being followed

Ensuring that production schedules are met

Coordinating activities with support personnel

Contributing to decisions in hires/discharges/transfers

Performing other associated duties as assigned

Experience desired:

People-oriented

Team-oreinted

Familiarity with the complete variety of shop equipment, concepts, practices, and procedures

Possesses excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Training in QS-9000 procedures

Some degree of formal training in business concepts a plus

Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Good problem-solving skills

Forklift-certified

Ability to read a minimum of 6-pt font, held at arms length

Ability to add and subtract negative and positive integers

Ability to understand and use both English and metric units of measurement
